KTM 690 SM and Duke

Fender Eliminator Install guide.

Thank you for purchasing this quality product from Mustard Bikes.

This product is designed to replace the bulky rear fender on both the KTM 690 SM and KTM 690 Duke.

This Fender Eliminator has been CNC cut from lightweight 3mm aluminum for maximum strength combined with minimum weight. The Fender eliminator should have been supplied with 6 bolts (3 short and three long) and 3 Hex spacers.

The following are some basic instructions to help you install your Fender Eliminator. If you are unfamiliar with your motorcycle it may be necessary to consult a workshop manual. The whole install should take around 30 to 60 minutes.

If you do not feel confident or are uncertain of your ability installing this product, it is recommended that you have your mechanic install it for you.

Make sure you have adequate room to work, suitable quality tools and all parts and supplies needed.

1. You will need to remove the rider/pillion seat, rear hand rail and left side panel so you can access the standard fender and the relevant wiring plugs.

2. Locate and separate the wiring plugs for the number plate light and both indicators. Undo the three bolts holding on the fender and remove the fender and attached wires from the bike.

3. Separate the two halves of the fender to gain access to the wiring and mounting bolts of the indicators.

4. Unbolt and disconnect both indicators. You may wish to use the connection for the standard number plate light on the Fender eliminator by cutting it from the wire and soldering it to the LED light wires attached to the Mustard Bikes Fender Eliminator.

5. Attach the standard indicators to the Fender eliminator and feed all wires through the large hole. Be sure to align the indicator locating pins to the corresponding holes in the Eliminator.

6. Install the 3 longer bolts provided into the threads used for the original fender. Thread the bolts through from inside the tail piece.

7. Install the 3 Hex spacers on the threads of the bolts you just installed. The two long spacers go at towards the front of the bike and the short spacer towards the back of the bike.

8. Feed the wires from your Fender eliminator through the hole they came from. Install the fender using the three short bolts provided.

9. Reconnect the indicator and tail light connectors into the wiring harness. Check all bolts are tightened and that all lights are operating properly. Reinstall side panel, rear hand rail and seat. Check again that everything is tightened and fits/works appropriately.

Congratulations!

If all went well your Mustard KTM 690 SM / Duke Fender Eliminator is now installed.
